Air That We Breathe First National Symposium on Air Resource Management in Sri Lanka

Description:

The First National Symposium on Air Resource management in Sri Lanka is a team effort to gather most of these needed scientific data on air quality. Objectives are:

1. To provide a platform for professionals/ researchers in various aspects of air quality management to share their experience with colleagues.
2. To collect national experience, best practices and information and use them in policy decision-making on air quality management.
3. To promote researchers to carryout research on air quality.

There were 32 research paper presentations, which were organized in 10 sessions i.e. air pollution and public health, vehicular air pollution, indoor air pollution, air pollution, climate change and ozone layer depletion, point and non-point source air pollution control, air monitoring modelling and emission inventory, policies and economics of air pollution. The key findings and recommendations that emerge from these scientific presentations can be utilized in identifying policy directions and formulating strategies for sustainable development in the country.
