Biofuels Act of 2006 (RA 9367)

Republic Act No. 9367, An Act to Direct the Use of Biofuels, Establishing for this Purpose the Biofuel Program Appropriating Funds Therefor, and for other Purposes, also known as the “Biofuels Act of 2006." The act mandates the government to reduce the country’s dependence on imported fuels, to phase out the use of harmful gasoline additives, to rather use biofuels, and to create an incentive scheme. With the creation of a National Biofuel Board (NBB), it shall monitor the Biofuel Program and ensure the sufficient supply of sugar to meet the domestic demands.
